Route 34, also known as Derby Avenue, runs through West Haven from Orange to New Haven, and this area is home to the beachfront properties and farmhouses inland. The avenue begins at the intersection of Derby and Main Streets, which is a mix of residential and commercial buildings, as well as a variety of shops and restaurants. In the Southwest, we are bound by the West River, which separates West Hartford and West Hamptons, the two largest cities in the state of Connecticut, from the West and East.
Route 162, which begins and ends at Route 1, starts in Orange and runs through West Haven and ends in Milford.
